Sujean Rim

Have you ever seen some of these beautiful illustrations? If they look familiar, it’s because you’ve probably seen them at Tiffany & Co., Random House, Rizzoli International, Barney’s, Almay, Marie Claire (Italy), Elle Decor (US), Target and more. Behind the work is a beautifully talented illustrator: Sujean Rim. Sujean was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York City. She attended Parsons School of Design, where she majored in Fashion Design. How can you not fall in love with her illustrations? They’re full of life with a vibrant, classy, and chic touch. With encouragement and support from her mom, close friends, colleagues, and teachers, she put a book together in 1995 and has illustrated many more books since then — including one of my favorites, Birdie’s Big-Girl Shoes. I actually read it for the first time at my local library! Birdie’s Big-Girl Shoes is about a little girl who can’t wait to be just like her mommy. She loves wearing all her mommy’s things, especially her high heels. She goes through an adventure every little girl will enjoy and feel excited about while reading this beautifully illustrated book. It’s a book my little “Sassy Princess” will definitely relate to — she’s in a stage of wanting to do everything mommy does. :) Visit Sujean Rim’s website and enjoy all her beautiful designs: http://www.sujeanrim.com
